MAYOR HOLDS PRODUCTIVE MEETINGS WITH TRADITIONAL LEADERS AND BUSINESS COMMUNITY ON DRAFT 2024-2025 IDP AND BUDGET

The Mayor of Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality, Cllr. Dr Meriam Molala, kick-started with the drive to consult with the traditional leaders and local business community on 23 April 2024 to present the Draft 2024-2025 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget for the coming fiscal year held at The Bridge Boutique in Zebediela. The IDP serves as a blueprint for the municipality's development goals, outlining priorities and projects aimed at improving the lives of residents.

Traditionally, these leaders play a vital role in their communities, acting as custodians of cultural heritage and trusted representatives. Their insights into the needs and challenges faced by their people are crucial for crafting an effective development plan.

During the meetings, Mayor Molala presented the Draft 2024-2025 IDP and Budget, highlighting key areas of focus. Traditional leaders and Business community highlighted proposed initiatives in areas like infrastructure development, streamlining business regulations and had the opportunity to raise concerns, propose solutions, and offer suggestions for projects that would directly benefit their communities.

"The insights shared by our stakeholders are essential for building a strong and sustainable future for our municipality," said Mayor Molala “By working together, we can create an IDP and budget that fosters economic growth and benefits all residents."

The Mayor's office has assured the public that all suggestions and concerns raised during the consultation will be carefully considered. The final IDP and budget will be presented to the council for approval before the start of the new fiscal year.
